Review: Although I have had this whole series since October, it has taken me a while to read the books. And whenever I happen to post a picture of books, asking what should I read next. My book blogger friend, who is always suggesting books for me. Tells me that I must read This Shattered World then the last book of the series.

So last week I finished the second book and am waiting to read the third and final one, once I get a couple of other books done.

But I have to say this second book was very fast paced and action packed. I also really liked the characters and seeing them develop through the whole of the book. I also really liked seeing the characters and plot carry over from the first book, “These Broken Stars”. Now I am trying to remind myself I have a very big stack of books next to my bed that need to be read before anything else in my house.

I think the only thing that I did not like about this book, was that sometimes I had no clue where the characters were at. Or that some scenes rushed from one point to the next, and I was left confused.

Summary: The second installment in the epic Starbound trilogy introduces a new pair of star-crossed lovers on two sides of a bloody war.

Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac should never have met.

Lee is captain of the forces sent to Avon to crush the terraformed planet’s rebellious colonists, but she has her own reasons for hating the insurgents.

Rebellion is in Flynn’s blood. Terraforming corporations make their fortune by recruiting colonists to make the inhospitable planets livable, with the promise of a better life for their children. But they never fulfilled their promise on Avon, and decades later, Flynn is leading the rebellion.

Desperate for any advantage in a bloody and unrelentingly war, Flynn does the only thing that makes sense when he and Lee cross paths: he returns to base with her as prisoner. But as his fellow rebels prepare to execute this tough-talking girl with nerves of steel, Flynn makes another choice that will change him forever. He and Lee escape the rebel base together, caught between two sides of a senseless war.

Review of Silver Bastard (Silver Valley #1) by Joanna Wylde

Silver Bastard (Silver Valley #1)  by Joanna Wylde

Review: I had really high hopes for this new series, to see how one of the other MC’s were doing. And there has been a lot of set up for Puck’s story.

But sadly this book did not even come close to what I was hoping for in characters depth and plotline. It seemed very run of the mill for this series and it did not start off the series with a bang.

I was really quite disappointed with how Puck and Becca turned out to be. It was like they were zig zinging around the whole book and it was hard to follow their emotions. And what ever the heck they were doing in the book with each other.

I think this might be the last of the Silver Valley I will read, unless something changes….

Summary: First in the new Silver Valley series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Reapers Motorcycle Club Novels

Fourteen months. For fourteen months, Puck Redhouse sat in a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. Then he was free and it was time for his reward—full membership in the club, along with a party to celebrate. That’s when he saw Becca Jones for the first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended he’d violated his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.

Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed Becca and saved her all in one night. She’s been terrified of him ever since, but she’s even more terrified of the monsters he still protects her from… But Becca refuses to let fear control her. She’s living her life and moving forward, until she gets a phone call from the past she can’t ignore. She has to go back, and there’s only one man she can trust to go with her—the ex-con biker who rescued her once before.

Puck will help her again, but this time it’ll be on his terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really wants…

Vicious Cycle (Vicious Cycle #1)  by Katie Ashley

Review: I happened to pick this book up on accident, I meant to grab another book from a different author, but this happened to be under that author. I know, I know, I should have double checked to make sure it was the right book. My bad.

Although this book was not the one I was looking for, I did have some fun reading it. Even though it did get slow or very similar to other biker books I have read in the past. The characters and plot were nice enough and pulled me into the storyline.

Though I don’t think I will continue on with this series, just because there was nothing that really made me want to keep reading for more…..

Review of Reaper’s Fall (Reapers MC #5) by Joanna Wylde

Reaper’s Fall (Reapers MC #5)  by Joanna Wylde

24611803

Review: This book started out really good and got a bit better, even with the side characters hogging some of the lime light. But I saw as the book went on ( the middle), it got worse plot and character wise. I really did not like what I was seeing from the characters. It was almost as if they changed who they were completely. I was not liking it.

But by the end of the book, the characters or author seem to really pull the book around. And was able to end on a good note for them and the storyline as a whole.

Summary: The New York Times bestselling author of Reaper’s Stand is back in her “uber-alpha rough world of MCs”* as one woman’s future is rocked by the man whose hardcore past could destroy her…

Melanie Tucker may have had a rough start, but along the way she’s learned to fight for her future. She’s escaped from hell and started a new life, yet every night she dreams of a biker whose touch she can’t forget. Reaper’s Stand (Reapers MC #4)  by Joanna Wylde

Review: I think the thing that caught me up in this book right off the bat was the prologue, only about three pages. but man does it suck you right into the story and where it might go.

I was a little bit surprised at how much I liked these characters and plotline right away. Normally its really hard for me to like or relate to the characters in this series, but for some reason I keep coming back to the book. Maybe its just the out of my normal reading zone, that I like so much…

Anyway, there were a lot of times I just wanted to chuck this book out a window, mostly because of a side character begin the worst ever. And maybe because the two main characters Picnic and London drove me a bit crazy too.

All in all this was a strong fourth book in a series that makes you think of a job well done.

Review of Maximum Ride Forever (Maximum Ride #9) by James Patterson

Maximum Ride Forever (Maximum Ride #9)  by James Patterson

22208238.jpg

Review: The only thing I thought of when I saw this book was, ” I wonder how much Patterson messed up my favorite characters again.”

Man was I wrong. It seems that James Patterson finally came back to who and what these characters really are. Along with the plot for the series.

I have never been so surprised by how good a book really, and how much I loved it. Since I  read the first Maximum Ride book all those years ago. Because reading this book after the awfulness that was the eighth book in the series. Reading this felt like coming home.

I have never loved a character or looked up to one as much as I do Max. Ever since I was a young girl in middle school reading all of the flocks adventures. That is why this book has made me so happy to see them as they should be, and not that crap they were in the eighth book.

Anyway back to the book… The flock, Max and Fang. All were perfect and even though they face some pretty bad stuff in this book and are able to overcome it all. they were able to save some of the world, along with make some people for the world tooo. I’ll let you sit on that and think about it.

400 pages. Hardback.

5 out of 5 stars.

Young Adult. Romance. Adventure. Fiction. Science fiction. Dystopia.

Published by jimmy Patterson.

Review: So this is another book that one of my book friends just about through at me to read. She is very much the Sanderson fan.

So I finally picked up one of his many books…… And was hooked from page one.

Wow, what a way to start off a book. I am still just blown away thinking about it. There were also so many little details that he slip into the plot and characters. That I was writing stuff down to remember it all.

I also had a lot of fun reading from David’s  point of view, because I normally don’t read that much of a guys point of view for books. But it was really eye opening and a great new experience. And that ending to this book!!!! I can’t wait to read the next two to find out what the heck will happen next.

Reapers and Bastards: A Reapers MC Anthology (Reapers MC #4.5)  by Joanna Wylde

Review: Although I was happy to get this book and read it. It was not anything really new or worth wild to the series. Most of the short stories are already in some of the Reaper books right now and the rest of the short stories were pretty uneventful and did not add anything to the overall plot of the two series nor to the characters either.

Although I will keep reading the series, I don’t think I will get anymore Novella’s for the series.

Summary: From the “New York Times” bestselling author of the “Reapers Motorcycle Club” and “Silver Valley” series comes an anthology of extras and never-before-released material, including a new short story featuring fan favorites Horse and Marie.

Charming Bastard: A Novella I first met Riley Boone when I was four years old. We moved to Callup, Idaho after my dad blew out his back and had to go on disability. Boonie’s family lived next to ours. Every afternoon he’d swagger off the school bus after kindergarten like a conquering king. For the first week he ignored me, until I impressed him by climbing nearly thirty feet up in the tree behind his trailer. They had to call the fire department to get me down, but it was worth it to see the respect in his five-year-old eyes. He gave me a worm in honor of my accomplishment. I fell in love. The next day he made me eat the worm and our relationship has been complicated ever since.

(Until now, this novella has been exclusively available in the paperback edition of “Silver Bastard.”)

Sticky Sweet: A Short Story Horse and Marie met for the first time in “Reaper’s Property.” Now experience this moment through his eyes. (Originally available on the author’s website.)

“NEW” Skunked: A Short Story Marie has some BIG news to share with Horse-news that will change both their lives forever….

“NEW” Sugar and Spice: A Short Story A prequel to “Reaper’s Fall,” this story features Painter and Melanie’s first meeting.

PLUS: Becca’s Huckleberry Pie recipe, Marie’s Bread recipe and Emergency Skunk Cleaning recipe.
