Review: I had no clue at all what this book was about, even after I bought it. I did not read the inside flap or back cover to find out what was in store for me.  But I had the best time reading this book with no for knowledge other than what the authors of this book said at their book signing ( which I happened to be at when I bought the book/started it too). For every sentence that I read, I was pulled deeper and deeper into this book. At times when I was reading it I felt as if it was eating me.

I have never in my entire life so far, ever read a book like this. I normally don’t read Sci-fi just because I haven’t found the right series or books for me yet in that genre. but after reading this book and being destroyed by it, I am hoping to find more sci-fi up my ally to read, because I feel a bit addicted now.

This is the top book of the year for me and I thought my top spot was already taken by another book, but it seems that Illuminae kicked the crap out of its ass to take the number one spot. All in all this book drove me crazy! I was really scared, pissed off, upset, and exhausted. This book will take you on a roller coaster of feelings and then dump you wondering what all happened and what’s going to go down next. The authors are also really amazing too guys, so if I were you I would go check out some of the interviews they gave or something because they are so funny and great.

Anyway , this book is actually hard to describe because of its amazingness. But I will say a few things that should help you if you decided to pick it up and take it home. Pay close attention to everything!! Nothing is just there, ok. Also when you get to the last 200 pages, stop everything you are doing and just read the book along away from everyone and thing. And do not go looking for spoilers already people. This is what my friend told me to do once I got this book and it was the best advice someone could have given me!

5 out of 5 stars.

Summary: This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do.

This afternoon, her planet was invaded.

The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to fight their way onto an evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.

But their problems are just getting started. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet’s AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what’s really going on. As Kady hacks into a tangled web of data to find the truth, it’s clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: the ex-boyfriend she swore she’d never speak to again.

Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents—including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more—Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes.
