Review: I really liked this book and it was so close to being a great read! I mean the plot and characters are cool and they gain depth as the story goes on and it makes you wan to read a lot more about the other characters. Also Dani is a pretty great main character, and so is Lincoln. The switching points of view is really great for this book because of the situations the characters go through together and apart. So it nice to see and read from their point of view about how they are dealing with the problems in their own way.
The only and biggest thing that really bugged me about this book and kept me from giving it that fifth star was that there seemed to be a mess up in the writing. Such as Dani taking about being a virgin and that she kind of wished it was gone at one point in the book ( and leading up to that point she talked about how her and her ex had never gone that far). And towards the end of the book when she did have sex ( sorry if that was spoiler for anyone but really its not), she talked about how she only has done the deed one time with her ex to make her feel better during the most tragic time in her life. This really bugged me because it was flippy and if Dani really did do the deed to feel better and more connected with her ex at the time. I feel that the author could have talked on that more instead of just leaving it out there. I also felt a little caught off guard by Dani saying that too, because she has been leading up to this point in the book and making sex a bit of a big deal. She also does not seem to be the girl that would just have sex with her ex to feel better.
Although this was a close five star book for me, I am looking forward to read the next in the series because I really do love the side characters introduced in this first book.
4 out of 5 stars.
E-book. I received this book from the publishers for an honest review in return. Thank you!
