December 30: Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015 — bookish, blogging or otherwise!

1. I would like to read way more classic lit in 2015 and actually write reviews for them, for my new theme I’m thinking of doing…

2. I would like to read 165 books next year. I’m so close to 150 right now I can taste it. Only  5 books left.

3. I would finally like to finish up the completed Manga series I have. I’m hoping to get them all at half Price Books this weekend.

4. Well, I read a 15 book series this year within a two week period and I would very much like to write / blog discussion about the series on the blog.

5. Take some time to work on my movie reviews, because I have seen a lot of book to movie, movies. But never really get that much of a chance to write them. I also might branch out and have a friend do it.

6. I would love to write post instead of just book reviews. I have a lot cool, fun, bookish topics that I want to talk about.

7. Post shelf selfi’s of my beautiful book cases.

8. Clean out books from my bookcases that I will never read.

9. Read another Harry Potter book.

10. Do inventory on all of my books/ manga. But then I look at all of them and need too call reinforcements to help.

Manga Monday! #24-Review of Kamichama Karin by Koge-Donbo*

Kamichama Karin by Koge-Donbo*

Review: The sweetest, cutest manga you might ever read. Why you ask, well just look at the art or the front cover. So yes the characters are just as adorable as they are drawn. The plot is ever cute, I’m not even kidding. Cute is normally not my style, but when I fond this manga my girl sense could not resist everything it is. The outfits they wear are also cute and stylish.

3 out of 5 stars.

1-7 volumes.

Young Adult. Manga. Shojo. Magic. Romance.

Published by  TokyoPop .

Summary: Karin is an average girl…at best. She’s not good at sports and gets terrible grades. On top of all that, her parents are dead and her beloved cat Shi-chan just died, too. She is miserable…but everything is about to change. Little does Karin know that her mother’s ring has the power to make her a goddess!

I Was Here

Cody and Meg were inseparable.
Two peas in a pod.
Until . . . they weren’t anymore.
When her best friend Meg drinks a bottle of industrial-strength cleaner alone in a motel room, Cody is understandably shocked and devastated. She and Meg shared everything—so how was there no warning? But when Cody travels to Meg’s college town to pack up the belongings left behind, she discovers that there’s a lot that Meg never told her. About her old roommates, the sort of people Cody never would have met in her dead-end small town in Washington. About Ben McAllister, the boy with a guitar and a sneer, who broke Meg’s heart. And about an encrypted computer file that Cody can’t open—until she does, and suddenly everything Cody thought she knew about her best friend’s death gets thrown into question.
I Was Here is Gayle Forman at her finest, a taut, emotional, and ultimately redemptive story about redefining the meaning of family and finding a way to move forward even in the face of unspeakable loss. Summary from GoodReads.com

Manga Monday! #23- From Far Away by Kyoko Hikawa

From Far Away by Kyoko Hikawa

Review: So now you will all know why I talk about this book so much! I absolutely love this series with a burning passion of a thousand suns. The art work, the plot, The cover’s, The characters, and finally the development of all of it put together make an amazing book. Just thinking about it and all the things in it, give me butterflies in my tummy.

Although the series is old and hardly anyone knows of it or has read it. Its a classic.

I don’t think I have ever meet anyone who has read this series, that’s why every time I meet new people I blurt out that they need to read this series. But let me tell you, after they have read it, they just look at me and sigh. It’s just that good.

I could probably go on and on about how much I love this series with all my heart, but I will try to get on with my review so I can go and read the series again.

Noriko may seem weak, timid, and stupid at first glance. But she learns fast and on her feet, and her character is able to grow so much that you wont believe that the girl at the end of each book was the one at the first book.

Izark, cold, silent, and very mysterious at first. But book by book you get to see more of him and his secrets.

By no time will you have fallen for these characters and their story. It may even become and favorite that you will look fondly on and re read more times than you can count.

5 out of 5 stars.

1-14 volumes.

Young Adult. Manga. Fantasy. Romance. Shojo.

Published by VIZ.

Summary: On her way home from school one day, Noriko is unexpectedly plunged into a strange and extraordinary fantasy world. Her troubles compound exponentially when she is rescued and befriended by a handsome young man by the name of Izark.

Review of Screwdrivered (Cocktail #3) by Alice Clayton

Screwdrivered (Cocktail #3)  by Alice Clayton

Review: I wasn’t that excited to read this book because I thought it was all new characters and a love triangle. Oh how I was so wrong. I forgot that Viv was introduced in the second book as Simon’s old friend from high school. God I love her.

And the love triangle? Pssh… Nope. It was mostly Viv thinking one guy out of the two was for her, or for her to have a wild ride with…..

Trust me on this, it is no competition. AT ALL.

The humor also did not leave along with the first two books in the series, we even get to see some of our favorite characters. But no Clive. Dang.

The humor is the best in this book I kept giggling in my classes just thinking about what was happening in the book and to the characters. My friends thought I was nuts. But just a little.

I can now not wait for the next book in the series.  I was so sad when this one ended too soon!

5 out of 5 stars.

256 pages.

New Adult. Romance. Contemporary. Mature Content.

Published by Gallery Books.

Summary: Readers back for a third round of the bestselling Cocktail series will enjoy a madcap romantic comedy about bodice ripping and chest heaving, fiery passion and love everlasting. Plus a dash of paperwork filing and horseshi—wait, what?

By day, Viv Franklin designs software programs. By night, Vivian’s a secret romance-novel junkie who longs for a knight in shining armor, or a cowboy on a wild stallion, or a strapping firefighter to sweep her off her feet. And she gets to wear the bodice—don’t forget the bodice.

When a phone call brings news that she’s inherited a beautiful old home in Mendocino, California from a long-forgotten aunt, she moves her entire life across the country to embark on what she sees as a great, romance-novel-worthy adventure. But romance novels always have a twist, don’t they?

There’s a cowboy, one that ignites her loins. Because Cowboy Hank is totally loin-ignition worthy. But there’s also a librarian, Clark Barrow. And he calls her Vivian. Can tweed jackets and elbow patches compete with chaps and spurs? You bet your sweet cow pie.

In Screwdrivered, Alice Clayton pits Superman against Clark in a hilarious and hot battle that delights a swooning Viv/Vivian.

Also within this book, an answer to the question of the ages: Why ride a cowboy when you can ride a librarian? summary from GoodReads.com

This ride is going to last a lot longer than eight seconds…

Female professional bull rider, Reece Hearst, graduated from the school of hard knocks. With honors. Because life is like bull riding–when it sends you to the dirt, you do whatever it takes to get on your feet, even if you have to crawl. Like when officials stripped her of her rodeo queen title on the basis of vicious gossip years ago and not even her father would believe her side of the story. Reece could have stayed in the dust, wallowing. Instead, she fixed Lonesome Point in her rearview, joined the pro circuit, and never looked back. But now a serious injury threatens to end her career and she’s back in Lonesome Point, living next door to the family that once made her life a living hell.

After multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan and his father’s death, all Grayson Parker wants is to get his family’s cattle business back in the black and live a quiet life. But the return of Reece Hearst opens old wounds, throwing his ordered world into chaos. Grayson was serving overseas when Reece was a teenager and can’t believe the girl he once knew has grown into a heartbreaker as hardened as she is beautiful.

Grayson finds a kindred spirit in wounded Reece and soon longs to be the man to show her that there is life after pain and loss. But can two people as damaged as Reece and Grayson find their way to happily ever after? Or will the scars on their hearts forever keep them apart?

Review of Stone Cold Touch (The Dark Elements #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Stone Cold Touch (The Dark Elements #2)  by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Review: I am not a Zayne lover going into this book and even coming out of it. Nope. I want Roth with Layla so much it hurts.

The book was good, not as great as the first. It seemed that Layla was more naïve than ever before. Some of the points made in the book were so blunt! I mean Roth would not just be jerk to her like that, there was a REASON!

The big plot twister at the end was really good though, like I mean wow.

The characters development was good and it fit the characters. Although some of the plot was them all just sitting around wide eyed talking about all the weird stuff going on.

The best part of the entire book? Layla bitch slapping someone with a bible. Oh and Bambi eating someone. Awesome.

3 out of 5 stars.

446 pages.

Young Adult. Romance. Fantasy. Paranormal.

Published by Harlequin Teen.

Summary: Every touch has its price
